What is Social Wiki?
Social Wiki is an internet directory to list, share and easily find social medias and communities around your center of interests.
This project aims at making it easier to find social medias with more accuracy and efficiency than relying solely on classical search engines.
Anyone can edit and create pages in any languages to share their projects, you don't need to create an account to edit or create a page.
Types of listed social medias[edit | edit source]
To be listed here, a website must fit the definition of a social media.
- Social media are Web 2.0 Internet-based applications.
- User-generated content (UGC) is the lifeblood of the social media organism.
- Users create service-specific profiles for the site or app that are designed and maintained by the social media organization.
- Social media facilitate the development of online social networks by connecting a user's profile with those of other individuals or groups.
For example, a news website with a comment section using third parties software (like Disqus) isn't considered a social media, but a news website allowing users to submit content and hosting its own comment section and users profiles can be considered a social media.
